
If you were looking for a Witcher-style choice/consequence system, I'm afraid I don't see Bioware doing that anymore. You can use a Renegade interrupt to get your answers more quickly, or Paragon or Renegade conversation to convince Mouse to tell you what you want to know. I predict that with their budget for an all-star voice actor cast, they'll probably go the safe route and just make all choices have roughly the same outcome. This can strongly mean that ME1 decisions will have an effect in ME3, even though you didn't see their effects right away in the second.

Note that literally looking at the ME2 save files, it has a lot of ME1 decisions that aren't quite shown in-game but are carried in it. If Bioware walks the talk in that they aren't encumbered by a next Shepard game, then they can let loose with all those consequences and stuff in ME3. "Put me in the "cautiously optimistic" category.
